Creating and Securing Your Recovery Seed

During setup, your Trezor device will display a recovery seed, typically consisting of 12, 18, or 24 words. This seed is the master key to your wallet and must be written down carefully. Never store it digitally, never take photos of it, and never share it with anyone. Trezor encourages users to write the seed on paper or use a metal backup for long-term durability.

If your device is ever lost, damaged, or reset, your recovery seed is the only way to restore access to your funds. Treat it as your most valuable document and store it in a secure, private location.

Setting PIN and Additional Security Features

Once your recovery seed is confirmed, you will be asked to set a PIN for your Trezor device. This PIN prevents unauthorized physical access and adds an extra layer of protection. Choose a PIN that is easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess.

Trezor Suite also offers advanced security features such as:

Depending on your experience level and security preferences, you can choose to enable or customize these features later.
